Before taking iBT, you should familiarize yourself with several types of prompts that you are going to deal with in this section. There are 6 types of prompts in writing iBT. They are:
1. Agree-Disagree
2. Preference
3. Compare-Contrast
4. Advantage-Disadvantage
5. Reason
6. Quality
In this section, you have to make sure that you give your best try to write a personal-opinion argument in 30 minutes. During that period of time, you should read the prompt carefully then write an independent essay in 30 minutes. In these three different prompts, you can use the formula of G+3TiC=C. Have a look at the following explanation for getting clearer idea on the formula.

As you can see there are three parts in TiC in every body paragraph. TiC itself is an abbreviation. T stands for transition, i stands for illustration, and C stands for concluding sentence. These three parts go hand in hand in making a good writing.
Now, let us discuss the first type of the prompts: Agree-Disagree. In this prompt, you have to give a choice between two opposing point of views provided. You have to choose one side then provide some arguments to support it. The example of this kind of prompt is in the question as follow.
Nowadays, we don’t need radio anymore. Do you agree or disagree? Why? Give examples and reasons to develop your opinion
In the example above, you need to be careful in giving your idea. Try to avoid giving two arguments. For example:
• Double argument: Sometimes, I think that we still need radio, but sometimes I think that we do not need it any longer for our daily life.
• Single argument: Personally, I think we still need radio.
There is a reason for giving only one side of argument. Giving one point of view will save your time more as you can give more focus in giving arguments. You will run out of time when you develop two pints of views as you spend too much time to develop both sides of arguments. This condition will result in lack of development which will at last reduce your writing score.
